Growing up in the Colorado Rocky Mountains' Front Range, Cheyenne’s connection to wild places, untamed landscapes and imaginative environments was inevitable.

Her deep passion for exploration has led her to remote villages in Rwanda, coastal lines of Peru, alpine of New Zealand and the bush of Australia—to name a few.

Cheyenne's pursuits were not confined to geographical boundaries; they extended to the realms of relationship building, mentorship and skill development. Cheyenne is a certified AMGA single-pitch climbing instructor, Wilderness First Responder, Mental Health First Aider, NOLS Leader of Color, all while helping organize local highline gatherings and running her small coffee business, Alpenglow Coffee, with friend and co-guide, Brigit.

Her vision extends beyond the peaks, feats and landscapes to an unwavering loyalty to bringing more women of color into the outdoors. She leads with a strength-based approach to outdoor education and believes nature is not just a playground for the experienced and the privileged, but a magical realm meant to be shared—with people of every color, background, size, gender identity, and experience level. She is committed to dismantling barriers and creating a change that echos through the very same mountains that resonated with her as a child.

  • Two friends had an idea to bring a dream to life in the most wild of places – the backcountry.

Cheyenne and Brigit's paths crossed working as backpacking guides for Colorado Non-Profit, Women’s Wilderness. As mountain guides and years of spending time in the great outdoors, Cheyenne and Brigit realized the importance of starting your guiding day with a cup of hot coffee. Unfortunately, the single-serve, instant coffee options available weren't up to a eco-conscious coffee lover's standards—bitter and mostly made of single-use plastics, and traditional roasting methods weren’t feasible due to the limited space and weight.

So the question stood: How can you sustainably bring fresh, quality coffee to the backcountry? With that, Alpenglow Coffee was born.
